At the American Marketing Association of South Florida, we experienced something truly special—an exclusive afternoon at the Miami Open. What began as an exciting match quickly became a space for meaningful conversation, where ideas, perspectives, and experiences came together to reflect the true evolution of marketing.

As we enjoyed the energy of the game, we also had the opportunity to connect with exceptional leaders: Maggie Rivers (Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, F1 Miami Grand Prix), Valentina Simon Ferrari (RUN Agency), Tatiana Paez (AMG Global Distribution – L’Oréal, Vogue), and Kristal Piccolo (RICOH Digital Business Services).

What became clear throughout the discussion is that marketing today is no longer just about visibility—it is about connection.

Understanding Today’s Consumer

One of the most relevant themes we explored is how consumers—both in the United States and globally—are evolving. They are more informed, more selective, and at the same time, more overwhelmed by the volume of information available.

Today, people are not simply searching for products or services; they are seeking trust, authenticity, and relevance. This challenges brands to communicate with greater clarity and intention.

It is no longer about being everywhere. It is about being meaningful in the right places.

The Power of Insight and Human-Centered Strategy

Another key takeaway from our conversation is that impactful marketing is not built on trends alone—it is grounded in understanding.

The most effective strategies begin with empathy. When brands truly understand what people need, what they value, and how they make decisions, they can create solutions that genuinely resonate.

As highlighted in human-centered innovation, creating real value requires balancing what people truly need with what is possible and sustainable. But beyond any framework or model, one truth became clear:

The brands that truly lead are the ones that listen—deeply, consistently, and with genuine intent.

Unlocking New Opportunities with AI

A particularly powerful part of the discussion focused on the opportunities that Artificial Intelligence brings to marketing.

Artificial Intelligence is opening new possibilities to enhance how we understand, connect, and deliver value to our customers. To fully leverage its potential, organizations must align people, processes, and culture to create consistent and meaningful experiences.

We also reflected on the realities leaders face today: the challenge of over-information, the need to build trust in highly competitive environments, and the constant pressure to evolve alongside technology.

Yet within these challenges lies a powerful opportunity—to elevate how we engage, how we personalize, and how we serve.

Trust as the True Differentiator

In a world defined by speed, data, and constant innovation, the real competitive advantage is no longer just product, price, or even strategy.

It is trust.

Trust is built through consistency, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to delivering value. It is what transforms a transaction into a relationship—and a relationship into long-term loyalty.

A Final Reflection

After the panel, the conversation continued with the Board of the American Marketing Association and our panelists. We reflected on how dynamic, exciting, and multifaceted marketing has become.

Marketing today is a bridge between organizations and customers, between data and emotion, between technology and human connection.

For leaders navigating both local and global markets, the opportunity is clear:

Stay curious.
Stay human.
Stay connected.

Because the future of marketing will not be defined by those who know the most…
…but by those who understand people the best.
